Sydney has been running her program in Benton, LA for over a decade, she originally began starting young and challenging horses but now has turned her focus to teaching and competing at the highest levels in the sport. She has been taught by the very best equestrians in the industry as well as competed at the most prestigious events around the world. Sydney very much enjoys coaching and teaching to the local equestrian community in her hometown of Benton, LA and the North Carolina location of Hoffman and surrounding areas. Sydney loves to be an active participant in Gator Bayou Pony Club for the younger generations of horse crazy kids.
With years of success and experience, that would never have been made possible without all the owners, supporters and life long friends Sydney has had over the years. It is those people who have given her the opportunity to achieve some of her life long dreams.
Sydney has competed at the 5* Kentucky 3-Day event with Cisko A in 2016 and with QC Diamantaire, in 2021 and 2022. Both of these wonderful horses are owned by Carol Stephens. Sydney first made a U.S. team in 2018, when she was selected for the Nations Cup Team in Virginia. Sydney's long-time goal of competing abroad turned into reality in 2021, when she was selected to compete in Aachen, Germany with a historic team who earned Silver and again just one short month later a repeat in the Netherlands with another Silver finish with the U.S. team at Boekelo. Sydney and Q finished as the highest U.S. pair competing at Boekelo that week. Since then, Sydney has represented Team USA in Santiago, Chile and her most notable achievement has been in 2024 when she and QC Diamantaire made their Olympic debut in Paris.
Sydney has dedicated her life to being a professional equestrian. Her record continues to grow by being one of the top ranked riders in the U.S. and Top 100 in the FEI World Rankings.
Carol and Arden have a love of horses and the equestrian community like none other. Sydney would not be able to follow her dreams without the ongoing support of both Carol and Arden.
Elizabeth is not only one of Sydney's dearest friends but also lends a hand at the bigger events for grooming and support. Elizabeth's bucket list item of grooming for Team USA happened in 2023 at the Santiago PanAmerican Games. This job comes secondary to her primary focus of being a wife and pharmacist.
Caitlin is one of the best FEI grooms there is, she is Q's favorite person in the whole world. We always feel so lucky when we can get Caitlin to events, she is one busy woman working as the executive director at Promise Landing Farm and a mom of two!
Ava came to Elliott Eventing as a working student in 2023 with a spicy pony, Lyric. Since then, she has been monumental in making everything run smoothly day to day while keeping her current ride Cisko A in full work, attending online school and prepping for college where she will sadly leave us in the fall of 2025.
Lucy is the newest member of the team! As a resident of Maryland, Lucy has made the move South to work with Kimmy Cecere and myself as she has her goal set on learning the ropes of FEI grooming and becoming a freelance groom for top riders.
